Adam Tunks
Fund Manager
Adam Tunks has over 15 years’ experience underwriting first lien debt, mezzanine debt and equity transactions of various commercial real estate property types. After starting his career at NorthMarq Capital, a national commercial real estate investment banking firm, he spent eight years at a small private equity firm focusing on commercial real estate and multifamily acquisitions and rehabilitation projects. During his tenure at the equity fund, Adam developed and administered all phases of investor tracking and reporting. He brings this Partner service experience to First Person Capital. Adam’s responsibilities for FPC include investment underwriting, investment decisions, and FPC administration.
Adam works as a Executive Vice President for GMC, providing front-row access to the GMC investment opportunities. Adam holds undergraduate degrees in Financial Consulting and Economics from Southern Methodist University and a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business. He lives with his wife and two sons in Dallas, Texas.
David Smith
Investment Committee Member,
First Person Capital
David A. Smith joins First Person Capital as a member of our Investment Committee. He is a seasoned veteran in Investment Banking, Real Estate and Finance. Mr. Smith spent 29 years at RBC in their Capital Markets division. He has been an active commercial real estate investor in first lien, mezzanine and equity financing for the last 15+ years. Mr. Smith has served on various boards including Crockett National Bank, The Alcuin School as well as the Capital for Kids. He is an active member in his community and church and currently serves on the Executive Board at Highland Park United Methodist Church. Mr. Smith received his BBA in Accounting from SMU and resides in Dallas, TX with his wife and four children.
Dodge Carter
Investment Committee Member,
First Person Capital
Dodge Carter joins First Person Capital as a member of our Investment Committee. Dodge started his career working for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in their Property Management Department, where he was responsible for keeping track of the Hospital’s large oil and gas interests. He then worked for a mineral buyer, followed by a renewable energy startup before moving from Energy to Real Estate during graduate school. After almost a decade working in the oil and gas industry Dodge joined Graham Mortgage. In addition to working closely with Dean Castelhano in various aspects of Graham Mortgage’s business, Dodge’s responsibilities include loan underwriting and origination. Dodge graduated from the University of Alabama with a Land and Energy Management degree and has an MBA from SMU with a concentration in Real Estate. Dodge lives in Dallas with his wife and two children.

- FPC has a strategic partnership with Graham Mortgage Corporation (“GMC”), www.gm-tx.com. GMC originates loans, services the loans, and accepts investors as participants. FPC is one of those investor participants and has access to a steady flow of exclusive investment opportunities. Adam Tunks is an Executive Vice President at GMC. As such, FPC has front-seat insight into investment opportunities.
Dean Castelhano
President, Graham Mortgage
Dean became President and owner of Graham Mortgage Corporation in January 2013. He has been a loan originator with Graham since 2006. Dean has a 40-year tenure as a commercial real estate loan underwriter and originator. 35 of those years have been spent in Dallas. After starting his career with New York Life Insurance Company, Dean built a successful commercial real estate loan brokerage firm. Throughout his career, Dean has gained hands-on experience will all phases of commercial real estate with an emphasis on loan underwriting and capital markets. Dean focuses his time on loan production, new product development, investor relations and marketing activities. He remains active as a senior member of the loan committee.
